Medicare can be confusing!

• Oregon SHIBA – This is our local Oregon resource for all things Medicare.  They take the federal rules and add in what is state specific to Oregon.  They also have local volunteers to provide impartial, free Medicare counseling. 
• Medicare.gov – This is the “official federal website” for Medicare information.  It is up to date and accurate.
• Enrolling in Medicare online – This will take you to the Social Security website where you can enroll on line, or over the phone.
• Applying for Extra Help – Part D – Some people are eligible for assistance with their Prescription Drug costs based on family income this is how you would apply for this program.
• Oregon QMB Program – Some people are eligible for assistance with their Medicare premiums, this is where you would apply for this program.
• Oregon Prescription Drug Program – Any Oregonian can apply for this State Discount program.
